🔋Vapes and batteries can cause fires - keep them out of your bin. 🔋
Vapes contain lithium-ion batteries which can explode when damaged. There was a 70% increase in UK battery related fires in waste sites and bin lorries between 2022 and 2024.
Options to safely dispose of vapes and household batteries:
• Place in a carrier bag (not black sack) out alongside your bin on collection day for separate collection.
• Take to Bilbrook or Cannock recycling centre.
• Deposit in dedicated containers found in supermarkets and shops.
